Who are the biggest cyclists in mountain bike history? It is a difficult question, but there is one that we think would be fun to consider.

Some names come to mind right from the first days of sports. When the mountain biking competition began in October 1976 at the First Downhill Race Mt. In Tamamis, Joe Breeze and Gary Fisher were top competitors.
As sports grew in the 1980s, riders like Joe Murray and down increased visibility with many others. Prior to the first UCI world championships in the UCI Championship in 1990, there had been other competitions invoiced as “World Cup”, which was held in both the United States and Europe. Down Overend won three of these competitions-two in 1987 (one in Europe and one in the Mammoth Mountain in the United States) and another in 1989, he was reportedly the world person when he won the Lord’s landscape title in the UCI Mountain World Championship in Durango, Colorado, 1990.

Perhaps even more important in record books was July Furtado, the most important female competitor in America. In addition to winning three world championship titles, July also won the UCI World Cup in both cross -country (1990) and Downhill (1992), which can give him a challenge Tomac’s position in history as the best mountain cyclist.

In men’s ranks, Nino Schurter, Switzerland, is the undeniable XC Racing area. He has won the UCI World Cup among the elite men ten times, and his career is not over yet. The French Julien Absalon comes with the next five XC world championship, while Henrik Djernis in Denmark is three and the Canadian Roland Green has two. Twelve more riders have a UCI World Cup XC title, including two Americans, Down Overend (1990) and John Tomac (1991).

Alison Sydor was one of the biggest XC Racing series of all time. He won the three UCI World Championship (1994, ’95, ’96), three world championship titles and the 1996 Olympic Silver Medal.
Downhill, Anne-Caroline Chausson, France, stands head and shoulders over all other women. She won Nine Elite’s downhill World Cup. The next most successful rider in this category is Rachel Atherton in the UK, which has won five such titles. Three other women have won two titles: French Sabrina Jonnier and Emmeline Ragot, along with Giovanna Bonazz, Italy. Only three Americans have won the title of Elite Women’s Downhill in the Worlds: July Furtado (1992), Missy Gioove (1994) and Leigh Donovan (1995).
Brian Lopes was a king of dual sludge and four crosses, winning four UCI World Cup and six world championship titles. Brian won a total of 26 World Cup victories, including the first cross -country competition in 2012.
In men’s ranks, Nicolas Vouilloz, France, has a record with seven gold medals elite downhill in the UCI World Cup. French member Loic Bruni is the next four, while the Gregistic Minnhaari in South Africa has four, and Australia’s Sam Hill has three. Only four Americans have won the world champion: Greg Herbold (1990), Dave Cullinan (1992), Mike King (1993) and Myles Rockwell (2001). Myles was the only competitor that broke the Vouulloz tube when Nico won all other World Cup in Elite Men’s Downhill in 1995-2002. When it comes to the World Cup most, Greg Minnaar sets a record for a total of 10, thanks to four silver and three bronze.
